Lesaka Technologies is seeking an experienced and strategic Group Head of SecOps to lead and coordinate security operations across its group of companies.

This pivotal role is responsible for safeguarding the group's information assets, systems, and data against internal and external threats, while ensuring alignment with global security standards and business objectives.Role PurposeThe Group Head of SecOps will provide leadership, direction, and oversight to security operations functions within each business unit, ensuring consistency, effectiveness, and compliance.

This role plays a critical part in embedding a culture of security awareness, managing incident response, and enabling the group to adapt proactively to the evolving threat landscape.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership for SecOps across the Lesaka Group, ensuring a unified and effective approach to information security.Align security policies, procedures, and practices with international standards and regulatory requirements.Oversee threat monitoring, incident detection, and response activities across all business units.Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing to identify and address vulnerabilities.Develop and implement group-wide security awareness and training programs.Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to strengthen the group's security posture.Lead and coordinate incident response planning and execution in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders.Engage with senior executives and key stakeholders to ensure security initiatives support business goals.Mentor and develop security talent across the group to build a high-performing and resilient team.Internal and External RelationshipsInternal : CIOs / CTOs, SecOps Leads, and Information Security Officers across all group companiesExternal : Security vendors, service providers, and strategic technology partnersQualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldProfessional certification such as CISSP, CISA, or CISMExtensive experience in senior security roles, ideally in a group or enterprise-wide capacityStrong knowledge of security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk governanceExcellent analytical, leadership, and communication skillsProven ability to manage complex projects and influence across diverse teams and geographiesKey CompetenciesDeep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., SOX-ITGC, PCI-DSS, NIST CSF)Proficiency in intrusion detection and prevention, log analysis, and system / network fundamentalsCritical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to operate under pressureStrong ethical integrity, persistence, and a proactive approach to problem-solvingIf you do not hear back from us within two weeks of submitting your application, please consider your application unsuccessful.
