Job Description
The Group Head of Digital Marketing will lead the development and execution of Old Mutual Limited’s eCommerce, Performance Marketing, and Digital Marketing strategies across the Group.
Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic development, engagement, and sales growth of Old Mutual digital platforms (web and mobile).
- Manage Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategies, Implementation, Policies, and Governance.
- Oversee analytics initiatives to optimize sales, increase conversions, and reduce site abandonment; lead digital analytics and personalization strategies.
- Implement new digital sales campaigns, maintain existing ones, and develop differentiated inline shopping experiences for various customer segments.
- Manage marketing automation campaigns and platforms.
- Deliver and implement personalization initiatives across digital assets to enhance traffic, customer satisfaction, and conversion.
- Design targeted personalization initiatives and relevant communications across digital touchpoints.
- Optimize audience segmentation to improve customer satisfaction and conversion rates.
- Lead capabilities in Digital Marketing, Performance Marketing, Digital Analytics, SEO, customer retention, and Digital Adoption.
Main priorities/deliverables:
- Develop strategies to grow digital sales and revenue focusing on customer acquisition, conversions, and retention.
- Lead Performance Marketing, SEO, and Digital Marketing functions, fostering process, capability, and cultural improvements.
- Achieve digital sales targets within the group's risk appetite.
- Maintain an always-on brand online conversation calendar.
- Lead SEO strategy and implementation.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Create digital sales value via online, app, WhatsApp, and USSD platforms.
- Drive performance marketing and digital sales initiatives.
- Monitor and optimize digital sales effectiveness.
- Develop new sales and marketing initiatives to increase profitability.
- Collaborate with brand teams on digital materials leveraging shopper insights.
- Create sales collateral and tools for digital penetration.
- Identify external digital sales opportunities.
- Report digital sales performance to senior management.
- Stay updated on eCommerce trends, platforms, and regulations.
Additional responsibilities:
- Optimize digital sales, profit, and customer experience metrics.
- Manage budgets and vendor relationships.
- Provide leadership and mentorship within cross-functional teams.
- Develop differentiated online shopping experiences, incorporating omni-channel capabilities.
- Analyze trends, monitor performance, and conduct competitive research.
- Lead sales journey optimization from deployment to post-deployment.
- Proactively resolve issues and adjust strategies as needed.
- Coordinate with internal teams to support digital performance.
Role & Key Result Areas:
Qualifications and experience:
- 8-10 years management experience, including at least 3 years at executive level.
- 5-7 years as a Performance Marketing strategist in digital channels.
- Experience with mobile and omni-channel marketing.
- Strong organizational and results-driven skills.
- Problem-solving, effective communication, and ability to work under deadlines.
- Technical understanding at a functional level, with high curiosity and adaptability.
- Collaborative team orientation and influential communication skills.
Knowledge / Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of Digital Marketing, Performance Marketing, Digital Analytics, Personalization, and Content Strategy.
- Strong business judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead digital sales programs and partnerships.
- Results-oriented with experience in performance marketing and automation platforms.
