Job Description

The Group Head of Digital Marketing will lead the development and execution of Old Mutual Limited’s eCommerce, Performance Marketing, and Digital Marketing strategies across the Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic development, engagement, and sales growth of Old Mutual digital platforms (web and mobile).
  • Develop and oversee Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategies, Implementation, Policies, and Governance.
  • Implement analytics initiatives to optimize sales, increase conversion, and reduce site abandonment, including digital analytics and personalization strategies.
  • Manage digital sales campaigns, including new initiatives, existing campaigns, testing strategies, and differentiated shopping experiences for various customer segments.
  • Oversee marketing automation campaigns and platforms to enhance business outcomes.
  • Deliver and implement personalization initiatives across digital assets to boost traffic, customer satisfaction, and conversions.
  • Design targeted personalization initiatives and relevant communications across digital channels such as websites, mobile, email, and others.
  • Optimize audience segmentation to improve customer satisfaction and conversion rates.
  • Lead critical capabilities including Digital Marketing, Performance Marketing, Digital Analytics, SEO, customer retention, and Digital Adoption.

Main Priorities/Deliverables:

  • Develop strategies to maximize digital sales and revenue, focusing on customer acquisition and retention.
  • Lead Performance Marketing, SEO, and Digital Marketing functions, driving process, capability, and cultural changes.
  • Achieve overall digital sales targets within risk appetite.
  • Maintain an active online brand presence aligned with the Brand Promise.
  • Lead SEO strategy and implementation.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Create digital sales value through online, app, WhatsApp, and USSD platforms.
  • Drive performance marketing and digital sales initiatives.
  • Monitor and optimize digital sales effectiveness.
  • Develop new digital marketing initiatives and sales tools.
  • Identify external opportunities for digital sales growth.
  • Report digital sales performance to senior management.
  • Stay updated on eCommerce trends, regulations, and platforms.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Optimize digital sales, profit, and customer experience metrics.
  • Manage budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams.
  • Create differentiated online shopping experiences incorporating emerging omni-channel capabilities.
  • Analyze trends, monitor performance, and conduct competitive research.
  • Lead sales journey optimization and deployment activities.
  • Proactively address issues in digital sales execution.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support performance and outcomes.

Role & Key Result Areas:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 8-10 years of management experience.
  • At least 3 years at an executive level.
  • 5-7 years as a Performance Marketing strategist on digital channels.
  • Experience with mobile and omni-channel marketing.
  • Strong organizational and results-driven skills.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of Digital Marketing, Performance Marketing, Digital Analytics, and Content Strategy.
  • Strong business judgment, decision-making, and cross-functional relationship skills.
  • Experience launching digital sales programs with online retailers.
  • Results-oriented, entrepreneurial, and excellent communicator.
