Qualifications

  • Qualified with Bcom Accounting and SAIPA or SAICA articles.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in freight forwarding/logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation.

Our client has expanded their freight forwarding business to a number of different jurisdictions including : Mozambique, Tanzania, Mauritius, Netherlands and requires the expertise of an experienced Group Financial Manager who will provide support for all these new entities and liaise with the in-country teams.

The role is a back-office / support function and will be based in Bryanston, Johannesburg.

Key Requirements for consideration Bcom Accounting with completed SAIPA or SAICA articlesMinimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within the freight forwarding / logistics / shipping sectorMust have at least three years of group consolidation experienceStrong leadership qualities and ability to manage cross-functional teams especially in African jurisdictionsExposure to foreign currency transactions and hedgingAdvanced Excel skills and proficiency in SAGEDuties & ResponsibilitiesOversee the full financial function, including budgeting, forecasting, and reportingProvide leadership and guidance to the finance teamDrive strategic financial planning and contribute to executive decision-makingEnsure compliance with financial regulations and governance standardsCollaborate with commercial and operations teams to optimize processesAnalyze and manage financial risks, cash flow, and cost structuresImplement and maintain strong internal controls and systemsSupport and lead financial audits and year-end processesCompile and present monthly shareholder reporting packsCollaborate with business units to prepare and review monthly financial reporting packsOversee group-level cash flow reporting and managementPerform and manage group consolidations across entitiesSupport due diligence processes when requiredManage the Group Profit & Loss statementEvaluate and improve business unit financial processes to drive profitability and efficiencyAdditional Requirements Strong understanding of accounting principles including IFRSMust have an exceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent communication skills and ability to engage with clients, vendors and other stakeholdersShipShape Experience is advantagesIf you have not received any feedback from us within 5 working days please consider your application unsuccessful.
