Job description

DESCRIPTION/SYNOPSIS:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Group Financial Manager to join a prominent multinational group headquartered in Melrose, Johannesburg. This position requires a highly skilled finance professional with a CA(SA), CIMA, and strong financial management experience, particularly with multiple African Countries.
The successful candidate will oversee financial operations for a portfolio of African entities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency. This is a highly strategic role requiring a balance of technical expertise, leadership capability, and business acumen to support a dynamic and complex business.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • CA(SA), CIMA or equivalent qualification
  • At least 3 years' experience in a finance management role
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Experience with Navision (preferred)
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Experience reviewing annual financial statements and driving cross-border reporting

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage monthly reporting and ensure timely preparation of management accounts, variance analysis, reconciliations, and group reports
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, VAT, taxes, and all statutory requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Coordinate annual budgeting and rolling forecasts; manage cash flow, payments, and intercompany transactions
  • Oversee fixed asset management, CAPEX, and insurance updates
  • Drive system improvements and ensure efficient use of ERP systems including Navision and TM1
  • Maintain robust financial controls and policies in line with group requirements
  • Lead a team of finance professionals, set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure all audit requirements (internal and external) are met and respond to regulatory and board-level requests
  • Oversee contract management, intercompany billing and ensure transfer pricing compliance
  • Provide financial input for new regions, entities and products as the group expands
