Job description

A well-established group of companies is seeking a Group Financial Manager to contribute to the strategic direction and long-term financial viability of the organisation and its subsidiaries.

The role involves leading a team to deliver financial services, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organisation and its subsidiaries.

The successful candidate will keep the Group Financial Director and Group CEO informed of all financial developments, potential risks, and changes.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading on key financial projects as directed, including planning, exploring potential problems or opportunities, and ensuring resource availability.
  2. Conducting necessary research, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions.
  3. Implementing the finance strategy across subsidiaries in collaboration with the Group Financial Director and Group CEO, and advising on financial implications of proposed actions.
  4. Analyzing financial information received from subsidiaries and maintaining relevant financial models, controls, and documentation.
  5. Working with senior management on risk management techniques to embed financial controls within the organisation and its subsidiaries.
  6. Contributing financial and commercial expertise to support the organisation's strategic direction and long-term viability.
  7. Improving systems related to budgets, forecasts, and financial processes across the group.
  8. Managing, mentoring, and developing staff, including volunteers, through training, recruitment, performance monitoring, and reviews.
  9. Providing reports and briefings to senior management and during strategic meetings.
  10. Monitoring key account reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely financial information from subsidiaries.
  11. Participating in mergers, due diligence, and structural changes, and representing the group externally on finance issues.
  12. Building and maintaining strong relationships with the finance team, stakeholders, and external agencies.
  13. Engaging in ongoing professional development and training as required.
  14. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  15. Staying updated on policy and professional developments within the field.
  16. Promoting and embodying workplace values of honesty, commitment, and inventiveness.

Qualifications and skills required include proven knowledge of financial analysis, systems, and strategy; excellent communication skills; in-depth knowledge of reporting standards, tax regulations, and legislation; analytical skills; attention to detail; interpersonal and negotiation skills; honesty and integrity; and a commitment to the role.
