Job Title: Group Financial Accountant FMCG Packaging ManufacturingLocation: Cape Town

Are you an experienced and results-driven accountant ready to take the next step in your finance career? We are recruiting a Group Financial Accountant to join our Cape Town-based team, reporting directly to the Group Financial Executive.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, innovative, and growing FMCG packaging manufacturing company that services top brands across South Africa. As a key finance team member, youll contribute directly to the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of the groups financial reporting, while supporting operational excellence within the manufacturing and packaging environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

As a Group Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

Financial Preparation & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly accounts to management account level for multiple entities within the group.
  • Generate and manage customer invoicing and associated revenue recognition.
  • Analyse variances against budgets and provide insights to management.
  • Perform full account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy across cost centres, inventory, and revenue streams.
  • Prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations, with a focus on manufacturing-related accounts.
  • Calculate interest and assist with cash flow management for production operations.
  • Support year-end audit processes by compiling all necessary documentation.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, including cost forecasting related to raw materials, logistics, and production inputs.

Payments & Controls

  • Process and release supplier and operational payments via the relevant banking systems.
  • Maintain robust internal controls across the finance function in a high-volume FMCG environment.
  • Drive improvements in financial systems and reporting efficiencies.
  • Play an active role in the day-to-day finance operations alongside the Group Financial Executive.
  • Support key business initiatives and projects within the finance and operations team.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, production, and sales departments to ensure financial alignment across business functions.

Education & Experience

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A completed Accounting degree or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 5 yearsrelevant experience in a similar financial role, ideally within an FMCG, packaging, or manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills and high overall computer literacy.
  • Experience using Xero or similar accounting software (advantageous).
