Description

We are part of a fast-growing professional services firm dedicated to supporting small and medium businesses and fostering community prosperity across the UK, Ireland, and South Africa. This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious team at an early stage of its journey.

The Group Finance Assistant will support the finance function with various activities, including maintaining financial information for the Group’s holding companies and other small trading entities within the Group.

This diverse role requires good Excel skills, excellent communication, and organization skills. Familiarity with financial functions and core processes is important. An open mindset and eagerness to learn are equally valued. The company supports development and will assist the right candidate with AAT and further finance qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts for the Group’s holding companies
  • Performing bank and other key month-end reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly accrual and prepayment schedules and posting relevant journals
  • Maintaining Group’s loan schedules, calculating interest, and managing repayments according to policies
  • Managing intercompany reconciliations across the Group
  • Liaising with internal and external parties to exchange information and resolve queries
  • Preparing and inputting data into the daily cash flow forecast
  • Processing and paying staff expense claims in line with group policy
  • Processing and paying purchase invoices, ensuring proper authorization
  • Maintaining financial data in software, including loading and reconciling TB data from subsidiaries
  • Providing administrative support to the finance team
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Part or fully qualified CA(SA), ACCA, AAT, or equivalent, with 1-2 years’ experience in a fast-paced finance environment
  • Experience with management accounting and operational finance processes
  • Knowledge of finance systems such as Sage or Xero is beneficial
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience in professional services is desirable but not essential
  • Confident and clear communicator
  • Collaborative mindset and team-oriented attitude
