Job description

Our client is seeking a degree qualified Engineering Manager with experience managing engineering maintenance for group operations across international mining sites to join their team, based out of Gauteng.

Responsibilities :

• Providing engineering support to group operations internationally, with a focus across Africa.
• Deployment and standardization of the maintenance management system.
• Instilling best practice safety standards and procedures across operations.
• Ensuring quality and service objectives are achieved through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Carrying out maintenance gap analyses and operational audits.
• Reporting as required.
• Technical lead for maintenance management across company operations.
• Serve as a reliability subject matter expert for condition monitoring requirements and audits.
• Ensuring world class standards for engineering maintenance are achieved, retaining and growing the client base in doing so.
• Evaluating maintenance strategies to ensure effective design and implementation across sites.
• Budgeting and cost control, reducing costs where possible.

Requirements : Qualification and Skill

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a similar relevant field.
• 15 years’ experience in engineering management for mining operations and mineral processing, with at least 5 years at group management level across international operations.
• Proven expertise in implementing upgraded processes and maintenance management systems.
• Strong CMMS experience and computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
• Well-versed in lean methodologies, statistical analysis and automated systems.
• Professional registration advantageous.
• Well-versed in legal compliance and global best practice for safety standards.
• Excellent communication, problem identification and solving and analytical skills.
• Asset and project management experience.
