Job description

JOB PURPOSE

Provide first-line functional and business-process support to Group Treasury across front-office and back-office activities. This role enables users to complete treasury transactions accurately, on time and within control requirements by resolving process, data and system queries; maintaining user guidance; and coordinating more complex issues with Finance, Digital Technology and external service providers. This is a business-facing support role with strong Treasury and SAP Finance knowledge. The incumbent must understand the technology and integration sufficiently to diagnose issues and communicate clearly with technical specialists but is not expected to be an SAP configuration or development expert.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
First-line support
  • Act as the first point of contact for Treasury users, logging, assessing, prioritising and resolving incidents, service requests and processing questions within agreed service levels.
  • Reproduce errors, validate transaction status, review master data and workflow, check common interface or file issues, and provide practical user guidance. Escalate with a clear diagnosis, evidence, business impact and urgency.
  • Monitor critical daily and period-end activities and coordinate timely resolution, including payment cut-offs, deal settlement and month-end dependencies.
Process and control
  • Apply strong end-to-end process knowledge across deal capture, approval, confirmation, settlement, accounting, reconciliation and reporting.
  • Promote standard processes, maker-checker controls, segregation of duties, authority limits, complete supporting documentation and audit-ready evidence.
  • Identify recurring errors, control weaknesses and inefficient workarounds; agree root-cause actions with process owners and Digital Technology.
SAP and integration support
  • Provide functional support across SAP Finance and relevant Treasury capabilities, including Treasury and Risk Management, Cash Management, bank communication, electronic bank statements, payment processing and related accounting.
  • Understand key data flows between SAP, banks, trading platforms, market-data services and other treasury interfaces. Coordinate functional investigation without performing specialist configuration or development.
  • Support user access queries and periodic access reviews in line with role design and control requirements.
Change, testing and adoption
  • Capture business requirements and translate them into clear process, data, reporting and control needs for Digital Technology or service providers.
  • Prepare test scenarios and expected results; coordinate and execute user acceptance and regression testing; document defects and obtain business sign-off.
  • Maintain procedures, quick-reference guides and knowledge articles; train and coach users on approved processes and new functionality.
Improvement and reporting
  • Use ticket trends, user feedback and operational data to prioritise continuous improvement and reduce repeat incidents.
  • Maintain a visible support backlog and report service performance, recurring issues, ageing, control concerns and improvement actions to Treasury leadership.
  • Support standardisation and scalable ways of working across Group companies while recognising approved local banking and regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems or a related field. A treasury, accounting, SAP or service-management certification is advantageous.
  • Typically 5 to 7 years’ relevant experience in Treasury, Finance operations or SAP Finance/Treasury business support, including experience as a key user, super user, business analyst or functional support analyst. Practical exposure to both front-office and back-office treasury processes is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of treasury and finance business processes and controls;
  • Good working knowledge of SAP Finance and Treasury modules and their integration;
  • Treasury accounting and period-end processes;
  • Payment and bank-statement processing;
  • Cash management, foreign exchange, deposits, borrowings and intercompany funding;
  • Workflow and approval concepts; and incident, request, testing and change practices.
  • Able to interpret transaction data, error messages, workflows, interfaces and file-processing outcomes;
  • Understand SWIFT and ISO 20022 concepts at a working level; and communicate effectively with SAP specialists, integration teams, banks and vendors.
  • Excellent analytical troubleshooting, business-process thinking and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder service, documentation and facilitation skills.
  • Able to prioritise time-critical work, remain calm under pressure and follow issues through to closure.
