Job description

Their services help brands who are looking to target the complicated and diverse African market.

They are a global company with teams in Johannesburg, Lagos, Nairobi, and Amsterdam who provide logistical support, data, and market insights.

How you'll work

As the Group Accountant, you will be a key functional expert in the organisation and will be responsible for all finance and accounting activities.

This includes consolidating financial results, monthly forecasting, managing the annual operating plan, tax and accounting guidance, treasury management, and credit management as well as enforcing compliance with finance-related laws, procedures, and regulations such as tax filing and financial reporting.

You will lead through influence and provide guidance, support, and assistance to the organisation.

The executive leadership team will rely on you to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financials as well as speed and efficiency of data management, financial reporting, and continuous improvement in data analytics and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Manage 9 companies (most are small and only require VAT and basic requirements).
  2. Be responsible for income TAX, VAT, and CIPC submissions – good working knowledge of SARS Efiling and dealing with SARS.
  3. Update bank accounts and process transactions.
  4. Be responsible for loan accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
  5. Be responsible for interest, depreciation, and loan journals.
  6. Be responsible for group management accounts.
  7. Take part in financial meetings.
  8. Manage weekly payments to strict deadlines, bank accounts, and payroll runs.
  9. Be responsible for ageing checks, audit preparations, B-BBEE preparations, and general admin.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  1. Relevant degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  2. At least 5 years' experience in a similar role (non-negotiable). Previous media experience, working with media buying, and media owners are advantageous.
  3. Consideration will be given to a suitably experienced Financial Accountant to grow into the role.
  4. Ability to deal with reasonably complex reconciliations.
  5. SAGE / Pastel knowledge – both payroll and accounting are an advantage.
  6. Media and production systems experience is advantageous.
Package & Remuneration

R40,000 per month (negotiable based on experience).
