A well-established company is seeking an experienced Group Accountant to join their team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, particularly in a high-volume import/export environment, and must possess a completed BCom Degree in Financial Accounting Honours. Responsibilities include overseeing the accounts department, managing foreign currency transactions, and providing monthly financial analysis. Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Proven experience working with import/export transactions.
• Advanced Excel skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Posting of all journal entries.
• Cashbook reconciliations.
• Compiling monthly management accounts and providing insightful analysis.
• Processing of foreign currency transactions.
• Managing and supervising the accounts department.
• Liaising with banks, SARS, and auditors.
• Preparing and monitoring expense budgets.
• Monthly sales vs. targets performance analysis.
• Inventory trend analysis.
• Reviewing daily sales to identify losses or low gross profit.
• Compiling daily sales and inventory reports.

What We're Looking For :

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experience
• Proven experience working with import/export transactions
• Completed BCom Degree in Financial Accounting Honours
• Proficient in Sage Evolution software
• Advanced Excel skills essential

Key Responsibilities :

• Posting of all journal entries
• Cashbook reconciliations
• Compiling monthly management accounts and providing insightful analysis
• Processing of foreign currency transactions
• Managing and supervising the accounts department including Debtors, Creditors, Cashbook, Financial Administrator, and Payroll
• Liaising with banks, SARS, and auditors
• Preparing and monitoring expense budgets
• Monthly sales vs. targets performance analysis
• Inventory trend analysis: fast movers, slow movers, dead stock
• Reviewing daily sales to identify losses or low gross profit, investigating causes
• Compiling daily sales and inventory reports for management and Directors
