Job description

A company offering lifestyle and concierge services to individuals and businesses is seeking a Group Accountant in Cape Town.

Position Overview:

This role involves supporting a shared service finance team with accounting tasks across multiple entities in EMEA, APAC, and the Americas. The ideal candidate will ensure ledger accuracy, compliance, and completeness, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The position offers opportunities to interact with high-profile clients and engage in professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a local team of accountants.
  2. Ensure high quality of financial controls and governance.
  3. Prepare and review month-end financial ledgers and reports.
  4. Oversee reconciliations, bank closures, and compliance with financial standards.
  5. Maintain subsidiary ledgers, asset registers, and monitor debtors and creditors.
  6. Coordinate audits and liaise with auditors.
  7. Support operational reporting and ad-hoc finance projects.
  8. Stay updated on financial policies, IFRS standards, and relevant regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Matric (Garde 12) and a BCom in Accounting.
  • Professional accounting qualifications such as CIMA, SAIPA, or AGA (SA).
  • Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles.
  • At least 4 years of accounting/finance experience, with 2+ years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in shared service or finance operations in a global or multi-site organization is advantageous.
  • Industry experience in Hospitality or Travel is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, automation, and process optimization skills.
  • Deep understanding of IFRS, financial regulations, and taxation laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus.
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
