The role is accountable to the Grindrod Logistics Board and reports to the Managing Director of Maersk South Africa. This organizational structure exists within a joint venture between Grindrod Limited and Maersk in which Maersk holds a 51% equity stake and Grindrod 49% equity stake.
The Managing Director of Grindrod Logistics is a critical role that serves as an inspirational leader responsible for formulating and executing an integrated, long-term strategic vision and managing the day-to-day operations of the company. This role involves steering the organization through complex, strategic decisions that align with the broader corporate goals, thereby facilitating sustainable growth and competitive advantage. The right candidate must build and model a great company culture, and good working relationship with the Board of Directors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR :
Minimum 10 years of senior management experience, preferably in a similar industry.
Proven track record of successfully implementing strategic initiatives and managing large teams.
Exceptional communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
Proven ability to interact with senior management of various stakeholders including key government bodies.
Proven ability to work as a change agent and challenge the status quo.
