We are seeking a GRC Specialist - registered Compliance Officer in the Insurance sector, Johannesburg.

Job Summary:

The GRC Specialist will provide expert compliance advice, risk management, and governance across all organizational levels. The role involves maintaining and developing the Governance, Risk & Control framework in accordance with relevant legislation, risk methodologies, and frameworks.

Essential Qualifications:

1. Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees in Business, Commerce, Legal, Risk Management, or Governance
2. RE5 and RE1 certifications
3. Postgraduate qualification related to Governance, Risk, and/or Compliance
4. Clear criminal record
5. Meet FAIS Fit and Proper requirements

Essential Experience:

1. Registered Compliance Officer
2. Certified Risk Management Practitioner (CRM Prac), Fellowship or Associate Chartered Governance (FCG/ ACG), or Certified Compliance Practitioner/Professional (CPrac/CProf)
3. 3-5+ years of senior experience in Governance, Risk, and Compliance
4. Active membership with Compliance Institute SA, Institute of Risk Management SA, or Chartered Governance Institute of SA
5. Knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance, and governance requirements
6. High proficiency in Microsoft applications
7. Report writing and presentation skills
8. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills
9. Commercial awareness and understanding of broader business issues
10. Research, investigative, and probing skills
11. Excellent communication skills
12. Experience in developing governance and strategic documentation
13. Ability to interpret legislation
14. Effective communication of complex information to non-specialists
