Job summary

GRAPHIC DESIGNER INTERN

Location: Germiston, Gauteng
Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Salary: R12,500 per month

Position Overview

This is a hands-on opportunity for a developing designer to gain practical workplace experience while working on a variety of creative projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Create graphics and visual content for social media, websites, presentations and marketing materials.

• Assist with the design and layout of brochures, flyers, posters, presentations and other marketing collateral.

• Develop and adapt artwork in line with brand guidelines.

• Assist with basic photo editing, image manipulation and resizing of digital assets.

• Prepare artwork for digital and print production.

• Make design amendments based on feedback from internal stakeholders.

• Maintain and organise digital design files and assets.

• Assist with updating existing marketing and promotional material.

• Work with the marketing and wider team to develop creative concepts and visual solutions.

• Ensure designs are accurate, consistent and delivered within agreed deadlines.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design or a related field.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

• Good understanding of layout, typography, colour and visual composition.

• A creative approach with strong attention to detail.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• A portfolio of design work is required.

Advantageous

• Experience with Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects.

• Basic knowledge of digital and social media content creation.

• Basic understanding of preparing artwork for print.

• Photography or video-editing experience.
