Graphic Designer (3D / Multimedia) required in Cape Town.

A well-known national media is looking for a Graphic Designer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis for their offices based in Cape Town.

Core Purpose of The Job:

To conceptualize, design and/or resolve Point of Purchase solutions according to the client’s specifications and ensure the briefs by account executive are being met. The incumbent will ensure all design done in the Symmetry workflow environment is of the best quality and adheres to Symmetry design standards and specifications.

The graphic designer will be required to combine innovative, creative, artistic talent & POP principles together with research and have a general understanding of customer needs, marketing, materials and production methods to create appealing design solutions that will be competitive in the marketplace.

Requirements:

• A Tertiary qualification in graphic design, art with a certificate, course, diploma or degree being preferred and/or relevant industry experience.
• 4 – 6 years’ experience in a similar position as a Graphic Designer.
• Experience in 3D / multimedia.
• POP is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conceptualise and produce design material for all point of purchase products required and compile presentations through a broad understanding of graphic design / 3D / video processes, theories, intent and rationale.
• Taking Briefs and Revisions.
• Brainstorming, Inquiring, Consulting, Researching and Referencing.
• Conceptualisation / Ideation / Rough Sketching.
• Translation of ideas onto design software that is structurally sound and viable for application.
• Applying a wide range of manufacturing processes or technologies into design.
• Constant communication and reviewing with AE’s, Creative / Art Director(s).
• Comprehensive filing of design files / info.
• Accessible to others for queries / suggestions.
• Quality checks of prototypes prior to presentation or production.
• Duties include design, layout and electronic preparation for repro with the use of software (Creative Suite, 3D Applications, Microsoft Office, Keynote).
• Discuss the requirements for the design with the creative / art director(s) and make all changes if necessary.
• Must be able to add overall value to client presentations with innovative “out of the box” creativity and communication solutions.
