Office Beacon LLC in Johannesburg is seeking a detail-oriented graphic designer to produce client artwork proofs using Illustrator, modify proofs, and convert into production-ready files. You will collaborate with the Creative team to communicate design decisions and ensure assets meet specifications.

Qualifications

  • Excellent proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of InDesign.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Understanding of color management and print production.
  • Ability to export/save artwork in multiple file formats (PNG, JPG, PSD, AI, EPS, PDF).
  • Good working knowledge of Google Workspace; familiarity with Asana, Slack, and Zoom is a plus.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities Produce client artwork proofs using Adobe Illustrator, working from scratch or from existing templates. Modify client artwork proofs based on revisions and save new versions as revised files. Convert client artwork proofs into production-ready artwork using supplier information and specifications. Consistently locate, verify, and display accurate product and print specifications for client proofs and production artwork. Collaborate effectively with the Creative team to communicate and execute design decisions. Attend project briefings with account teams via Zoom when required. Create, maintain, and organize blank artwork templates for products within the company library. Prepare web-ready product images in Adobe Photoshop for client storefronts. Work closely with the Order Management team to resolve production artwork questions during the order process. Update relevant stakeholders when tasks are completed using project management and communication tools such as Asana, Slack, and Zendesk. Work with the Creative Director to develop design assets for the company website, blog, and marketing initiatives. Retouch, edit, and adjust product photography for a variety of digital formats and applications. Perform other graphic design duties as assigned. Expectations Be available Monday to Friday, 3pm to Midnight (subject to change) Communicate clearly, promptly, and efficiently with team members and stakeholders. Maintain a positive, professional, and helpful attitude. Set clear expectations regarding project timelines and task completion. Keep files and design assets accurately organized and labeled within company Google Drive folders. Accurately translate design requirements into completed design assets and production-ready files. Apply creative problem-solving where appropriate while remaining aligned with established design requirements and guidelines. Skills & Qualifications Fluent English is required. Advanced proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly: Adobe Illustrator – highly proficient Adobe Photoshop – highly proficient Adobe InDesign – standard working knowledge Comprehensive understanding of color and the ability to work confidently across different color modes and systems, including: RGB CMYK PMS / Pantone HEX Ability to understand, export, and save artwork in a variety of file formats, including: PNG JPG PSD INDD SVG EPS PDF AI Good working knowledge of Google Workspace, including: Google Drive and folder organization Basic Google Sheets navigation and data entry Google Slides for presentations Basic knowledge of Asana is an advantage, although training can be provided. Requirements

Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; working knowledge of InDesign. Good understanding of print production, colour management, and artwork specifications. Ability to work confidently with AI, EPS, PDF, PSD, SVG, PNG, and JPG file formats. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and file organization. Strong English communication and collaboration skills. Working knowledge of Google Workspace/Drive. Familiarity with Asana, Slack, and Zoom is an advantage. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and follow detailed design requirements
