In-House Graphic Designer and Content Creator

Position Type: Full-time | Office-based

About the Role

Amapelepele / Natpro SpiceNet is seeking a highly motivated and culturally aligned Graphic Designer and Content Creator to join our growing internal marketing team. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the visual storytelling behind one of South Africa’s most trusted names in spices and FMCG – creating work that resonates with traditional South African households while aligning with our modern marketing goals.

This position will embed you at the heart of our business in Amanzimtoti and will require daily collaboration with our marketing team and consultation with our external design agency to ensure brand consistency and creative excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to deliver a seamless and consistent brand experience across all touchpoints
  • Partner with the appointed agency and production suppliers to co-develop standout, brand-aligned creative work
  • Conceptualise and design marketing collateral across print and digital (brochures, social content, packaging, posters, POS)
  • Set up print-ready files and liaise with printers and vendors
  • Create digital mockups and layout templates for internal and external communication
  • Develop creative for social platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok) including reels, stories, carousels
  • Work with digital calendars and brief templates to stay ahead of content planning
  • Optimise designs for mobile and web, understanding best practice per platform
  • Prepare scheduled presentations to support marketing strategy, product rollout, or brand initiatives
  • Present updates and creative progress in scheduled marketing team check-ins
  • Support event branding, roadshows, site visits and experiential content
  • Maintain meticulous file management and content library organisation
  • Provide proactive input on visual campaign strategy
  • Keep up to date with creative trends and technologies, especially developments in AI

Required Skills and Tools

  • Translate brand strategy into creative that connects across campaigns, content, digital, social, and more
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign (Premiere Pro a bonus)
  • Social content fluency: Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, TikTok tools
  • CMS familiarity (e.g. WordPress) is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong design, typographic and layout skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and time management
  • Excellent English written, verbal and communication skills - the main working language, isiZulu fluency is required.
  • Able to take initiative, self-direct, and thrive under deadlines
  • Must have a strong sense of accountability
  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field
  • Minimum 4 years professional experience in a design role with a proven track record ideally across both in-house and agency environments
  • Portfolio of print and digital work (PDF or online link required with application)
  • Experience with Canva only will not be sufficient
  • Proactive and solutions-driven with strong conceptual thinking
  • Curious, resourceful, and fast to research or troubleshoot design challenges
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders
  • Culturally fluent, socially aware, and passionate about audience impact
  • Positive, respectful, and adaptable – a creative team player

Additional Responsibilities

  • Uphold company values, policies, and confidentiality
  • Save and back up all designs and approvals in logical, retrievable structure
  • Ensure all content is free from racial, gender bias, or defamatory commentary
  • Use Paymo, Monday.com, or approved task tracking tools to manage tasks and timelines
  • Use Microsoft Teams for internal communication and collaboration
  • Open to evolving SOPs and creative processes in collaboration with agency
