Job summary

Northern Cape Foundation seeks a Grant Program Officer to identify and assess grant applications from community initiatives and non-profits in Kimberley and surrounding regions. You will research potential grantees, evaluate proposals for impact and feasibility, and monitor funded projects to ensure alignment with funding criteria.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social sciences, or finance, with 4–6 years in grant management or program evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences, Finance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify potential grant applicants aligned with the foundation's strategic priorities.
• Develop and disseminate grant application guidelines and procedures.
• Review and assess incoming grant proposals, evaluating their merit, feasibility, and alignment with funding criteria.
• Conduct due diligence on applicant organizations, including financial and programmatic reviews.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for the grants committee and board of directors.
• Manage a portfolio of active grants, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Monitor the progress of funded projects through site visits, regular reporting, and communication.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to grantees as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of grant applications, awards, and outcomes.
• Contribute to the overall strategic planning and development of the foundation's grant-making initiatives.
