Why This Role is Critical to Experian South Africa:

At Experian South Africa, compliance is a strategic enabler that supports our expansion and innovation across Africa. This role is pivotal in supporting the Compliance and Data Protection functions to ensure that Experian Africa meets its legal and regulatory obligations. The graduate will assist in achieving the compliance team's goals while gaining practical experience in compliance monitoring, data protection, regulatory reporting, and risk management. The primary purpose of the role is to contribute to the development and implementation of compliance frameworks and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Support the Data Protection Officer with data subject access requests, privacy impact assessments, and data breach responses.
  • Research regulatory developments and prepare compliance reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance team to provide advisory support to business units.
  • Maintain compliance registers, risk logs, and documentation.
  • Support the development and delivery of compliance training and awareness programs.
  • Assist in compliance monitoring reviews.
  • Participate in reviewing, enhancing, and designing compliance controls.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on compliance-related projects.
  • Contribute to process improvements and provide fresh perspectives.
  • Provide administrative support to the Compliance and Data Protection teams.
  • Assist with the use and maintenance of GRC platforms such as Archer and One Trust.
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Head of Compliance.

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Compliance, Risk Management, Business, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in compliance, data protection, and regulatory affairs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
