Job Description

Why This Role is Critical to Experian South Africa: At Experian South Africa, compliance is not just a regulatory requirement—it is a strategic enabler.

As we expand our footprint and innovate across Africa, we must ensure that our operations are underpinned by robust compliance frameworks.

This role will support the Compliance and Data Protection functions in ensuring Experian Africa meets its legal and regulatory compliance obligations.

The graduate will support the achievement of the compliance team's goals, gaining hands-on experience in compliance monitoring, data protection practices, regulatory reporting, and risk management.

The key purpose of the role is to contribute to the development and implementation of compliance frameworks and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Data Protection Officer in managing data subject access requests, privacy impact assessments, and data breach responses.
  • Conduct research on regulatory developments and assist in preparing compliance reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance team to provide advisory support to business units.
  • Help maintain compliance registers, risk logs, and documentation.
  • Aid in developing and delivering compliance training and awareness initiatives.
  • Assist in compliance monitoring reviews.
  • Participate in the review and enhancement of compliance controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on compliance-related projects.
  • Contribute to process improvements and support administrative tasks for the teams.
  • Support the use of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platforms such as Archer and One Trust.
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Head of Compliance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in law, Compliance, Risk Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in compliance, data protection, and regulatory affairs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
