Job description

Hospital Hill Surgery
Maternity Locum Cover

Commencing: 18 July 2025 – 23 January 2026

Sessions Rate: £280.00

We require cover for six sessions per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday) with an expected duration of 6 months, starting on Friday, 18 July 2025.

We are a friendly, well-established team based in Dunfermline, serving a practice population of approximately 8,800 patients. Our team includes 5 GP partners, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and 1 Practice Nurse.

Our multidisciplinary team comprises NHS 2 CTAC Nurses, a Healthcare Support Worker, Community District Nurses, Community Pharmacists (who handle prescribing and medicine reconciliation post-hospital discharge), a First Contact Physiotherapy Practitioner, Midwife, Dermatology Nurse, Dietitian, and experienced administrative staff.

We are an EMIS practice offering a variety of face-to-face and telephone consultations, with no more than 25 consultations per day. House calls are shared equally among GPs, along with administrative duties such as signing prescriptions and managing Docman workflows, supported by workflow optimization tools.

The clinical team collaborates effectively, with regular catch-ups throughout the day to discuss patients and provide mutual support.

We are also a teaching practice for Year 2 students from St Andrews Medical School during the university term.
