Placements24 is seeking an experienced Goods Vehicle Driver in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The role focuses on delivering merchandise safely and on schedule across distribution centers and retail stores.

You will operate medium-to-large goods vehicles, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and maintain logs. The ideal candidate has a valid SA license (Code 10) and PDP, a clean driving record, and strong knowledge of the Stellenbosch area.

Qualifications

• Valid SA Driver's License (Code 10) and PDP.
• Proven experience as a truck/goods vehicle driver, preferably in retail/logistics.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations.
• Excellent knowledge of Stellenbosch and surrounding Western Cape routes.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting/moving goods.
• Strong maintenance awareness and safety check routine.
• Reliable, punctual and with a strong work ethic.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate a company goods vehicle to transport merchandise between distribution centers and retail stores in the Stellenbosch, Western Cape region.
• Ensure all deliveries are made on time and according to the schedule.
• Load and unload goods safely and efficiently using appropriate equipment.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report issues.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and complete required documentation.
• Adhere to traffic laws, safety policies and road regulations.
• Secure goods within the vehicle to prevent damage during transit.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and store personnel.
• Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and tidy.
