Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative and experienced Director of Remote Operations Strategy to lead the development and implementation of a remote-first framework across our global remote workforce. Based anywhere in South Africa, you will shape policies, processes and technology to enable a productive, compliant, and engaged team.

Lead KPI design, security practices, and cross‑functional collaboration with HR, IT and legal.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a relevant field and PhD preferred.
• 10+ years in operations management with remote/distributed workforce experience.
• Proven success in global remote operational strategies.
• Strong knowledge of remote work tech and cybersecurity best practices.
• Ability to design and optimize processes for a decentralized workforce.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive remote operations strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
• Design and optimize policies and procedures to support a high-performing and engaged remote workforce globally.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement technologies and tools that enhance remote collaboration, productivity, and security.
• Establish KPIs to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop training programs and resources to onboard and support employees in a remote work environment.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations across jurisdictions for remote employees.
• Foster a strong remote company culture, promoting communication, collaboration, and well-being.
• Work with HR, IT, and legal to ensure seamless integration of remote operations.
• Manage the operational budget for remote infrastructure and support services.
