About the Role

Our client, a leading multinational technology firm, is seeking an experienced and visionary Global Procurement Lead to establish and manage their remote procurement operations. This pivotal role, while supporting strategic sourcing for all operations including those in Vereeniging, Gauteng , will be fully remote, offering unparalleled flexibility. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive global procurement strategy aligned with the company's long-term business objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, remote-based global procurement team.
• Oversee strategic sourcing and category management for key indirect and direct spend areas across all company locations, including Vereeniging, Gauteng .
• Drive significant cost savings and value creation through effective negotiation, supplier consolidation, and demand management.
• Establish and maintain robust relationships with key global suppliers, fostering strategic partnerships.
• Ensure supply chain continuity and mitigate risks through proactive planning and supplier diversification.
• Implement and optimize procurement technologies and processes to enhance efficiency and compliance across the global organization.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, finance, and legal teams to ensure procurement aligns with business needs.
• Monitor global market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes impacting procurement.
• Develop and report on key procurement metrics and performance indicators to executive leadership.
• Ensure adherence to ethical sourcing practices and corporate social responsibility standards globally.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• A professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is highly desirable.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and global procurement leadership roles.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing global procurement strategies that deliver substantial ROI.
• Proven experience leading and managing remote, international procurement teams.
• Expertise in complex contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation.
• In-depth knowledge of global supply chains, international trade, and diverse market dynamics.
• Proficiency with advanced procurement software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and analytics tools.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, and remote work environment.
