About Global Mobility

Global Mobility is a strategic HR function that manages the movement of employees across international borders to support business needs. It encompasses expatriate assignments, international transfers, remote work arrangements, and cross-border employment compliance.

JOB PURPOSE

Unilever is the place where you can bring your purpose to life with the work that you do - creating a better business and a better world. If you are passionate about driving operational excellence and optimizing global mobility programs to support a seamless employee experience and business success, then this role is just for you!

Part of the global People Experience team, Global Mobility is dedicated to supporting Unilever's global talent strategy and driving sustainable growth through a resilient and future-fit Global Mobility program, with employee experience at the heart of everything we do.

In the role of Global Mobility People Partner, you will collaborate with HR Business Partners and line managers to enable international talent movement. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end assignment/transfer process, directly impacting the employee experience of your Unilever colleagues during a significant milestone in their professional and personal lives. You will work closely with internal regional teams (including HR People Partners, Employee Data Analysts, Payroll services, Pensions, Reward, IT), the wider GM team globally, and with external strategic partners (for immigration, tax, and relocation services) to deliver exceptional employee experience.

This vacancy is within the Africa and NAMET Mobility team, which is responsible for assignments and transfers inbound to Africa and NAMET. If you thrive on supporting others and solving complex problems, enjoy learning new things and are curious about different cultures, and want to contribute to creating a world-class employee experience, this could be a great role for you!

  • You build close relationships with numerous stakeholders, multi-tasking and maintaining a tight control of day-to-day service operations.
  • You are the go-to person for your in-country stakeholders and pillars/business areas.
  • You proactively develop and maintain your understanding of local employment law, immigration, personal tax, social security, payroll compliance and vendor management.
  • You create and maintain assignee and process documentation.
  • You are responsible for payroll instructions and compliance.
  • You drive local consistency with global policies and processes, with a strong focus on data integrity and compliance.
  • You proactively seek feedback and make suggestions on improving the employee experience based on the feedback you receive.
  • You work in collaboration with your colleagues on a day-to-day operational level, prioritize and resolve problems, and participate in presentation and capability-building sessions as required.
  • You take the lead and become a 'Subject Matter Expert' in a particular area (e.g. tax, immigration, systems/digital etc.), sharing knowledge to build team capability.

Our ambition: unlocking talent through disability inclusion

The World Health Organization estimates that there are one billion people in the world currently living with a disability. That’s about 15% of the global population, or 1 in 7 of us. And the statistics suggest that people living with disabilities are among the most marginalised populations in the world in terms of employment and educational opportunity.

Removing the barriers facing people living with disability is a priority for our business. It isn’t just the right thing to do – we believe that creating equality of opportunity will unlock a huge pool of talent. It also gets to the heart of the ambition to ‘leave no one behind’ – and could contribute to the five Sustainable Development Goals which explicitly reference disability and to the wider sustainable development agenda.

In 2018, we set ourselves global commitments to achieve by 2025:

  • to be the number one employer of choice for people with disabilities, and
  • to increase the number of employees with disabilities to 5% of our total workforce.

These are ambitious targets. They involve transforming the way we recruit and train our people. And they mean adapting both the way we work and our workplaces, so that we can support people with disabilities to reach their full potential.

"We cannot be an inclusive organisation unless we ensure that we have created the conditions

and the culture for people with a disability to thrive."

We are keen to find out about your talent, and offer the support you need.
