Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Logistics and Supply Chain Manager to lead operations in George. The role requires strategic thinking to design and implement efficient logistics strategies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

The successful candidate will oversee warehousing, inventory control, transportation, and KPI monitoring, while mentoring the team and navigating both domestic and international shipments in the Western Cape region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management.
• Proven track record in optimizing supply chain operations and reducing costs.
• Strong understanding of inventory management systems and transportation management software.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing international and domestic shipments within George.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage warehousing, inventory control, and transportation.
• Negotiate with carriers, suppliers, and service providers to secure favorable terms and service levels.
• Implement and monitor KPIs to track supply chain performance.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and customs requirements.
• Lead and mentor the logistics team, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence.
