Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Remote International Freight Coordinator to oversee inbound and outbound international shipments from a home office. The role requires knowledge of global logistics, customs procedures, and trade regulations, coordinating with carriers, brokers, and overseas partners.

Ideal candidate has at least 4 years in international freight forwarding, strong communication and negotiation skills, and experience with freight management software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in international freight forwarding or logistics coordination.
• Understanding of Incoterms and customs regulations.
• Experience with ocean and air freight, and potentially land.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with freight management software and standard office applications.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple shipments remotely.
• Fluency in English; other languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage international ocean and air freight movements.
• Book cargo space with carriers, negotiate freight rates, and manage carrier relationships.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation (bills of lading, customs declarations, certificates of origin).
• Liaise with customs authorities and brokers for clearance.
• Track shipments and provide updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Resolve issues or delays in international transit.
• Maintain records of freight movements, costs, and documentation.
• Build relationships with overseas agents, suppliers, and partners.
• Ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes.
