Job summary

IQVIA is recruiting for a Principal Data Manager to oversee data operations from study start-up to database lock across global trials in a Centurion, South Africa setting. The role leads the CDM team, manages client relationships, and guides data management strategies to ensure clean, analyzable databases.

The successful candidate will provide SME expertise, mentor staff, and drive process improvements while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree clinical, biological or mathematical sciences, or related field or nursing qualification
• 5 years relevant experience including managing multiple data management projects through full life-cycle, including large trials >1000 patients
• Experience handling customer negotiations (e.g. bid defense meetings)
• Thorough knowledge of the data management process and specialized data management skills (SAE reconciliation, central laboratory, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Serve as Data Team Lead on a program of 6-10 global clinical trials or 40+ central laboratory studies
• Provide leadership to CDM team
• Manage CDM customer relationships and negotiate on timelines and budgets
• Provide leadership to Operations team and SME in CDM
• Serve as back-up for Data Operations Coordinator or Data Team Lead
• Manage delivery of projects through full data management lifecycle
