Those in tax compliance at PwC will focus on validating clients' compliance with tax laws and regulations. You will review and analyze financial data, prepare and file tax returns, and assist businesses in meeting their tax obligations while minimizing risks of non-compliance.

Global Compliance Services (GCS) is a specialized team within Tax and Legal Services, using custom-built software and tailored work processes to ensure efficient and effective tax compliance services for our clients. GCS has a vacancy for a Corporate Tax Manager to assist with providing various corporate income tax compliance services and related administrative tasks.

Duties include:

  • Technical review of corporate income tax returns and supporting schedules prepared electronically by associates.
  • Technical review of calculations of provisional tax payments and preparation of IRP6s.
  • Preparation of provisional tax returns.
  • Checking of income tax assessments.
  • Liaison with associates and team members regarding client affairs.
  • Managing a portfolio of compliance clients.
  • Maintaining client records and related correspondence, including preparation of documentation.
  • Attending to queries raised by SARS and liaising with SARS regarding client affairs.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax deadlines and risk management procedures.
  • Delivering quality tax services.
  • Keeping abreast of changes in tax legislation.
  • Managing WIP and debtors.

Key performance areas include:

  • Having knowledge and experience in the application of the Income Tax Act.
  • Being computer literate with working knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Google Suite (advantageous).
  • Possessing good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Accuracy, good judgment, numerical and analytical skills.

Qualifications and experience required include:

  • An accounting or tax degree or similar qualification with a tax specialization.
  • Experience in income tax, including preparation of corporate income tax returns and related matters, with 5-7 years in tax and 2-3 years in a managerial role.

Travel requirements: Up to 20%.
Available for work visa sponsorship.
