Sasol seeks a Chief Procurement Officer to lead its global procurement function, shaping strategy, driving cost efficiencies, and ensuring ethical sourcing. Reporting to the COO, you will develop policies aligning with regulatory, sustainability, and corporate objectives.

This senior executive role requires 10+ years in procurement with 5+ years in leadership, managing diverse, high‑value spend in energy/chemicals, overseeing a global team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive procurement experience with 5+ years in senior leadership overseeing complex, high‑value spend in energy/chemicals.
• MBA, MBL or related master’s degree required; CPSM/CIPS/PMP desirable.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier risk assessment capabilities.
• Proven leadership of diverse, multi-disciplinary teams across global spend.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across functions and regions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a global procurement strategy aligned with Sasol’s goals and sustainability commitments.
• Lead negotiations with international suppliers to secure favorable terms and service levels.
• Oversee category management, supplier risk, and performance monitoring across spend areas.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, and operations to align procurement with budgets and contracts.
• Drive cost‑reduction programs and value creation while ensuring ethical sourcing.
