Signa Opportunity is recruiting unemployed youth for quality workplace experience through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative.

About the YES Initiative

The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Position

Stipend : R5000 pm

About the role

As part of our team, the candidate will utilize Geographic Information System (GIS) skills to create and analyze spatial data. This includes using vector-based software to create maps and layers, understanding how to collect new spatial data (like from GPS devices), and managing this data in computer databases. Knowledge of map projections and spatial data principles will ensure that maps are accurate and informative, contributing to effective decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Geospatial Mapping
• Apply basic GIS software functions.
• Capturing primary spatial data

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Geography, Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Aged between 18 and 34
• Must not have taken part in the YES Programme before
