ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP : GirlCode is a Non-Profit Organisation aimed to help empower and employ women through the means of technology.

Girl Code has a goal to educate these women in development, technology, tech and design so that they can be better equipped as well as help diversify future companies and products.

GirlCode has three main initiative.

The first one is 'GirlCode club'- this is a network established by volunteer, weekend working clubs aims at high-school students.

GirlCode club allows these young females to build a foundation in coding skills that is strong and will be beneficial for their future.

The second is 'SMME Accelerator' – this is an initiative aimed to help Tech Small Medium Enterprises (SME's) owned by female entrepreneurs.

This initiative / programme runs for 6 months to a full year.

The last initiative Girl Code has is 'Workshops'- this is a 6-month, weekend, hands-on training that is done in person and educates candidates on how to become successful developers.

DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME : Location : Midrand, Gauteng Contract Duration : 12 months Start Date : 1 April Number of Positions Available : 30 GirlCode, in partnership with AWS, is offering a Software Development Engineer Training learnership exclusively for unemployed Females.

The programme will commence on 1 April and run full-time for a year.

During the programme, the candidate will engage in practical projects, learn how agile teams are required to perform in business environments, learn soft skills to aid the candidate in the work field as well as become educated about relevant tech-tools.
