Overview

Position: GET Art & FET Visual Arts Teacher (Gr 8–12)

Location: Northcliff, Johannesburg

A well-established independent school near Northcliff is seeking a passionate and dedicated Art & Visual Arts Teacher to inspire and develop creative talent across both the GET (Grades 8–9) and FET (Grades 10–12) phases.

The successful candidate will teach Art in the GET Phase and Visual Arts in the FET Phase, encouraging learners to develop technical skill, artistic expression and an appreciation for visual culture.

Qualifications, skills and experience required
  • A recognised teaching qualification with a specialisation in Art / Visual Arts
  • SACE registered
  • Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience across GET and / or FET phases
  • Experience teaching IEB Visual Arts at FET level (advantageous)
  • A strong portfolio of practical teaching and project-based learning
  • Excellent classroom management and the ability to inspire creative confidence
  • A passion for fostering artistic growth and critical engagement in learners
