  • Analyze the strength and deformability characteristics of rock and soil masses using laboratory and field data.

  • Perform stability analyses for open-pit slopes, underground excavations, and mine waste disposal facilities.

  • Develop and implement ground support designs and reinforcement strategies for underground mine workings.

  • Monitor ground conditions and deformations using instrumentation such as piezometers, extensometers, and inclinometers.

  • Assess seismic hazards and their potential impact on mine stability.

  • Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, including recommendations for design, construction, and monitoring.

  • Collaborate with mine planners, engineers, and geologists to integrate geotechnical considerations into mine design and operational planning.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Respond to geotechnical emergencies and provide expert advice during stability incidents.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering with a specialization in Geomechanics, or a related discipline.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, specifically within the mining industry.
