Placements24 is seeking a Geophysical Data Analyst to join its exploration team in Rustenburg. You will process, interpret, and integrate seismic, gravity, magnetic and well log data to build subsurface models that guide oil and gas exploration.

The role combines on-site collaboration with focused remote work and requires proficiency with Petrel, Kingdom and HampsonRussell, plus strong analysis and clear communication to support asset development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in geophysical interpretation and data analysis, preferably in oil and gas.
• Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software packages (Petrel, Kingdom, HampsonRussell).
• Strong understanding of seismic data acquisition, processing, and interpretation techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, collaborating on-site and remotely.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to present complex technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Process and quality control geophysical data including seismic, gravity, and magnetic surveys.
• Interpret seismic data to delineate subsurface structures and potential reservoirs.
• Integrate geophysical interpretations with well log, core, and geological data to create subsurface models.
• Utilize specialized software for data processing, interpretation, and visualization.
• Perform amplitude-based seismic attribute analysis to assess rock and fluid properties.
• Contribute to exploration strategy and prospect generation with detailed geophysical insights.
