Job summary

Curro Meridian Rustenburg is seeking a Geography and History Teacher (FET Phase) for a full-time role starting January 2027. The successful candidate will deliver a broad curriculum, coordinate subject activities and support learners’ academic growth.

Requirements include a BEd or PGCE in FET, honours advantageous, and at least five years of FET teaching experience with CAPS knowledge. Strong planning, communication and extra-hours commitment are essential.

Qualifications

• BEd and/or PGCE in FET phase education, honours advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as an FET phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the CAPS curriculum.
• Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
• Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform teaching duties, including planning lessons with modern tools.
• Set up, implement and monitor term plans with differentiated materials.
• Create baseline assessments and tailor subject choices and remedial work.
• Plan and manage the classroom, assessments and homework.
• Plan and manage extramural activities and outings.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring support and extra lessons.
