Opportunity: Data Scientist

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist to join our newly created Group Technology function. Working closely with the Chief Information & Data Officer, you will push the boundaries of commercialising data across our product portfolio, transforming customer interactions with our platforms, and delivering projects that directly contribute to revenue growth. You will engage with R&D and stakeholders internally and externally to focus on revenue growth and drive augmented and autonomous intelligence through data.

You should have a commercial data mindset and be an individual who can translate ideas into practical technical applications, aiming to transform the industries we operate within.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Predictive Models: Create and implement models to forecast market trends, competitor actions, and supply chain demands.
• Prescriptive Analytics: Use analytics to provide actionable recommendations for optimizing supply chain operations and strategic planning.
• Data Collection and Cleaning: Gather, clean, and preprocess data from various sources to ensure high-quality datasets.
• Competitor Intelligence: Analyze competitor data to identify trends, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
• Supply Chain Forecasting: Develop models to predict supply chain needs, inventory levels, and demand fluctuations.
• Data Visualization: Create visualizations to present complex insights understandably and actionably.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to align data science initiatives with business goals.
• Reporting: Prepare reports and dashboards highlighting key findings and recommendations.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Education: Bachelor's in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related; Master's preferred.
• Experience: At least 2 years in data science, with a focus on software engineering, AI/ML, predictive, and prescriptive modeling.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Databricks, AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras), LLMs (Claude, Llama, Gamma, Qwen), data storytelling, Tableau, PowerBI.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud for deploying AI models.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex data.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, able to convey technical info to non-technical stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: High accuracy and ability to determine market value of data.
• Work Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
