A regional healthcare provider seeks a general porter in Newcastle Local Municipality. The role involves undertaking portering duties to deliver high service standards. Strong communication and ability to work independently are needed, along with a valid driving license for vans. This position does not meet visa eligibility criteria. As a general porter you will be required to undertake portering duties on a day-to-day basis to ensure an efficient, effective and safe service to wards, departments and patients to deliver the highest standard of Service (Portering) within the New Craig’s site, Inverness, however, you may be required to support the service across other sites within the locality.
You must have the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, follow instructions and possess good communication skills. You must also be able to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and cope under pressure. You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment. A driving licence is essential for this post as you will be expected to drive a van up to 3.5 tonnes and the small catering and portering vans/cars.
Applicants must be well educated, of a smart appearance & have good customer communication skills.
