RED|LINE Recruitment is seeking a hands-on General Manager for a leading shopfitting, manufacturing and installations business in Johannesburg. You will oversee production, warehouse operations and overall business performance, guiding teams on the shop floor and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to high quality standards.

This role rewards leadership, initiative and strong operations acumen, with constant interaction across sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager or Production Manager within a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience in shopfitting, joinery, cabinetry, retail fit-out or related manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage supervisors, middle management and operational teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing and production facility.
• Manage production planning, scheduling and workflow to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Lead warehouse operations, stock control and the movement of materials between production and installation teams.
• Supervise and mentor middle management, ensuring accountability and high team performance.
• Monitor production quality, efficiency and health and safety standards across the business.
• Work closely with installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity and operational performance.
• Manage resources, staffing and operational costs to maximise efficiency.
• Provide strategic leadership while maintaining a strong presence on the factory floor and within operations.

• Demonstrated experience managing warehouse operations and production workflows.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage supervisors, middle management and operational teams.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
