General Manager (JB5283)

Location: Johannesburg South, Gauteng

Salary: R65 000 - 75 000 CTC, based on experience

Employment Type: Permanent


A well-established signage company is looking for a strategic, hands-on General Manager to lead high-level daily operations and guide the general strategy to improve overall business functions. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong technical insight, production experience, and leadership capabilities across multiple departments.


We are seeking a self-motivated, dynamic leader with a high degree of professional integrity and a proven track record in managing people, processes, and performance. You should be confident in decision-making, passionate about driving business improvement, and able to work across all departments with influence and foresight. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be future-focused, and bring a balanced approach to strategy, structure, and people management.


Minimum Requirements:
  1. Grade 12 or equivalent
  2. 10+ years’ experience in production planning, financial management, and technical understanding of design
  3. PC literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  4. Solid understanding of technical drawings, machining, tooling, and material specifications
  5. Prior experience in the signage industry (Preferred)
  6. Proven experience in budgeting and financial monitoring
  7. Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Lead day-to-day operations and oversee performance across all departments.
  2. Create and implement strategies that support business growth.
  3. Manage recruitment, hiring, and training processes.
  4. Ensure all departments deliver high-quality services and products.
  5. Work closely with managers and senior staff to drive efficiency and performance.
  6. Improve internal processes for enhanced productivity.
  7. Oversee large-scale projects and interpret performance data.
  8. Manage budgets and monitor the organization’s financial health.
  9. Identify operational issues and provide actionable solutions.
  10. Set and manage key performance goals for staff and teams.
  11. Prepare planning schedules and establish priorities aligned with company strategy.
