Introduction
We currently have a vacancy for Logistics General Manager at our Centurion Distribution Centre, our largest DC which houses the National Singles DC. Role will be based in Centurion, Gauteng.

Job Description
Purpose
To support and enable growth in the inland region, through leading and improving the logistics capability and network with a relentless focus on customer service, financial and operational efficiency.

Objectives

1. To recommend and drive business opportunities to gain competitive advantage that result in profit growth.
2. To assume full profit and loss accountability and lead the team in delivering the financial performance.
3. To focus on customer service excellence in delivering on time, in full and within quality specification, as per operational KPI’s and surveys.
4. To build relationships with various stakeholders, through cross-functional collaboration, to enhance business interest.
5. To enable a responsive network that supports an integrated supply chain approach through a balanced trade-off between availability, cost and stock.
6. To relentlessly focus on efficiency and continuous improvement within area of control and area of influence that improves operational execution and manages risk.
7. To optimise the cost base through the application of sound and effective financial and operational management principles.
8. To effectively mitigate risks related to people safety, stock and assets by adhering to the relevant legislative requirements.
9. To focus on competence, capacity and diversity through effective development of people and teams.
10. To ensure all health and safety standards are in place and all audit requirements are complied with.
11. To ensure that shrinkage and wastage targets are achieved in order to meet the financial targets.

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge (ESSENTIAL)

1. Warehouse Management Systems knowledge;
2. ERP;
3. SAP;
4. Understanding of the application of SHEQ and COIDA;
5. IR knowledge and Human Resources;
6. Transport contract management;
7. People Management.

Experience (ESSENTIAL)

1. 5 to 7 years: Logistics/Operations management at a senior level;
2. Managed a large site – circa 44 000 m2 or more;
3. Operational logistics experience of at least 3 additional years;
4. People management experience in a unionised environment;
5. An appropriate Degree, Honours or Masters.
