Job description

Our client is looking for a general manager for their breeder farm (broilers and layers) in Zambia.

The ideal candidate should possess experience in sales and operations, as well as industry knowledge. The position's focus will be the general management of the operations and business, including the implementation and execution of a sales strategy for the Chicks Business (broilers and layers).

Purpose of the Role

· Take the lead on all aspects relating to sales and take the lead in achieving the sales targets.

· Develop and implement a sales strategy for the chick operations.

· Develop and implement a technical service strategy and after-sales service for the chick business.

· Responsible for managing the chick business, including both revenue and cost management.

· Responsible for managing the farm production both for the breeders and the hatchery.

· Responsible for managing all maintenance, including vehicles.

· Manage operational procedures of all the above.

· Manage the performance and development of staff.

· Develop, implement and manage systems, policies, procedures and administration.

Minimum requirements

· Relevant Agricultural Qualification and/or business qualification (Degree/Diploma)

· Minimum of 6 - 8 years of relevant general sales and management experience

· Knowledge of:

- Sales

- People Management

- Breeder Farm / Hatchery management

- Animal Welfare - Bio-security Procedures

- Health & Safety Regulations
