Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
  • Approximately 5 years of proven experience in senior management roles.
  • Commercial and operational experience in warehousing, supply chain, logistics, and refined metal exports in Africa.
  • Experience in commodity exports/imports within Africa.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Reporting to the Operations Director:

  • Achieve regional goals and revenue targets.
  • Ensure compliance with Customs and SARS requirements.
  • Oversee daily operations, regional budgets, and costs.
  • Foster collaboration between Operations and Commercial teams.
  • Engage with key customers regularly.
  • Drive the region's commercial business vision.
  • Develop performance objectives aligned with national targets.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including rail and port authorities, to optimize the supply chain.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence within the region.
  • Meet and exceed customer service expectations.
  • Design regional strategies and set growth goals.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strategic management capabilities to drive business growth.
  • Understanding of financial drivers and key performance indices.
  • Negotiation skills, including dealings with trade unions and IR matters.
