General Legal Practitioner

PH Attorneys is looking for a general legal practitioner with wide general legal experience to appoint in its Pro Bono department. The ideal candidate should be an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 3-5 years minimum experience as a general legal practitioner in areas such as litigation, debt collection, labour and employment law, family law, criminal law and basic commercial law. If you are a general practitioner and looking to join a leading firm and help it grow its pro bono department to increase access to justice for deserving disadvantaged persons, we would like to hear from you!

Qualifications & experience:

• Must have at least an LL.B degree.
• Be an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• Be in good standing with the Legal Practice Council of South Africa
• Have 3 - 5 years post article experience as a general legal practitioner at a law firm, legal aid board or other legal aid organisation
• Language ability is vital as will need to communicate with persons from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong work ethic and high standards for work quality and confidentiality
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Highly computer literate and able to use videoconferencing platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, MS Teams etc.
• Well organized and administratively strong
