Job description

The General Laboratory Assistant position is a hands-on role that will form part of the Process Engineering Department, providing technical services for Agronomists. The successful candidate will test spray water properties, perform quality control on water reports, and ensure results are in spec and within turnaround times. It is an ideal position for an individual searching for a career opportunity to gain experience in a laboratory and manufacturing environment in a dynamic and rapidly growing agricultural company.

Main Responsibilities

• Monitoring and reporting on laboratory inventory stock
• Restocking raw materials for the laboratory
• Distributing laboratory stock
• Assisting with the preparation of samples
• Performing laboratory demonstrations for clients
• Accurately maintaining records and administration sheets for lab activity
• Conducting quality control on reports
• Performing routine tests and analyses depending on service requests
• Assisting with fertiliser development
• Sampling/product issue investigations
• Assisting with production support activities when required
• Performing quality control and maintenance on laboratory equipment
• Practising general housekeeping and safe work habits
• Ad hoc or other related duties as assigned
