The General Laboratory Assistant position is a hands-on role that will form part of the Process Engineering Department, providing technical services for Agronomists. The successful candidate will test spray water properties, perform quality control on water reports, and ensure results are in spec and within turnaround times. Main Responsibilities
- Monitoring and reporting on laboratory inventory stock
- Restocking raw materials for the laboratory
- Distributing laboratory stock
- Assisting with the preparation of samples
- Performing laboratory demonstrations for clients
- Accurately maintaining records and administration sheets for lab activity
- Conducting quality control on reports
- Performing routine tests and analyses depending on service requests
- Assisting with fertiliser development
- Sampling/product issue investigations
- Assisting with production support activities when required
- Performing quality control and maintenance on laboratory equipment
- Practising general housekeeping and safe work habits
- Ad hoc or other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- National Certificate or Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or similar
Experience
- Experience in a laboratory working environment would be advantageous
Other specific requirements
- Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)
- Medically fit to do manual labour when necessary
- Must be willing to work flexible shifts
- Own transport
