The university seeks to employ a skilled, knowledgeable, and resourceful individual to provide services as a General Assistant: Stores in respect to its various departments at Infrastructure and Engineering - Technical Stores.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accurate record-keeping, stock issuing, and capturing of stock on the Maintenance System.
Performing counts, annually, daily, and spot checks on stock items to ensure sufficient inventory levels.
Reporting and assisting the Senior Stores Buyer with the overall maintenance of the stock and storage areas.
Efficiently sourcing and controlling parts and spares, which are critical for general maintenance functions reliant on the availability of technical spares and consumables.
Accurately picking orders based on system-generated stock requisitions.
Conducting daily stock counts, managing inventory, deliveries, packing, and storing of spares.
Maintaining sufficient stock inventory and reporting low stock levels to the Senior Stores Buyer daily to prevent stock outs.
Properly packing and unpacking items for storage on shelves and storage containers.
Receiving and counting stock items, ensuring accurate data recording as per purchase orders upon delivery.
Assisting with stock counts.
Storing items in a neat, organized, and accessible manner in designated storage areas according to Technical Stores guidelines.
Labeling stock items with appropriate markings as specified by the Senior Stores Buyer.
Cleaning and maintaining supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with OHSACT regulations.
Inspecting all stock items for signs of wear or defects and reporting damages to the Senior Stores Buyer.
Qualifications:
Grade 12
3-5 years of proven experience in a Stores environment
Computer literacy
A valid driver’s license (code EB) with at least 2 years of driving experience
