Job summary

Cashbuild Limited is hiring a General Assistant (External Applications Only) to provide comprehensive customer service in-store and assist with merchandising, labeling, and housekeeping within the designated area.

The role requires clear English communication, basic numeracy, and flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. Applicants should have at least Grade 10 or Grade 12 with no related experience, plus valid SA ID or work permit and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with 1 year related experience.
• Grade 12 with no related experience.
• Able to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the area.
• Valid South African ID or work permit.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist Customers on correct products and queries.
• Assist with and resolve Customer complaints
• Bulk stock area to be merchandised safely and according to Store layout plan
• Must ensure your area of responsibility is fully merchandised according to Store layout and planograms.
• Ensure that your area is free of obstacles, stock is merchandised immediately after being received and that Customers can enter and leave your aisle without any risk of injury or irritation.
• Correct shelf price labelling within area of responsibility.
• Ensure Checklist completed as required when on duty with Canteen and Toilet/Showers schedule.
• Safety (OHSA) compliance within area of responsibility
• Ensure area of responsibility stock merchandised safe to Customers and Colleagues to move safely within Store
• Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager
• Report damaged stock within area of responsibility to Store Manager
• Integrity - complying with standards and handling sensitive information
• Accuracy - detailed information, orderly work
• Client focus - respond to clients’ wishes and needs
