Job summary

Isilumko Staffing is seeking a Gearbox Lubrication Technician to uphold safety standards and ensure reliability of industrial gearboxes in a maintenance environment. The role focuses on lubrication, inspections, and accurate record-keeping to prevent equipment failures.

You will work with mechanical and maintenance teams, perform oil changes, samples, and fault identification while maintaining equipment and tools in good condition.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in industrial lubrication or gearbox maintenance.
• Knowledge of industrial oils, greases, and lubrication practices.
• Mechanically adept to identify equipment defects.
• Ability to work safely around rotating machinery and industrial equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping.
• Experience with inspections.
• Own toolbox.
• Medically fit.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine gearbox lubrication and oil changes to maintain equipment performance.
• Inspect gearboxes for leaks, overheating, wear, and abnormal noise or vibration.
• Select and apply the correct lubricants according to manufacturer specifications.
• Take and record oil samples for condition monitoring where required.
• Maintain accurate lubrication and maintenance records.
• Identify potential gearbox and lubrication-related faults.
• Assist with gearbox inspections, servicing, and repairs.
• Ensure lubrication equipment and tools are properly maintained.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate closely with mechanical and maintenance teams to prevent equipment failures.
